Kingfisher celebrate over £1 million in orders at our most successful Open Event to date

Team Kingfisher is triumphant following our recent Autumn Open Event.  Timed to coincide with the Autumn Fair and Glee, we opened our showroom doors to welcome a steady stream of customers, for 10 days, from 8am to 9pm.

As well as being a showcase for over 2,000 Kingfisher products, the Open Week proved the ideal opportunity to launch several brand new lines.  These include some welcome additions to Kingfisher’s premium Gold Gardening Tools, and the trademarked Kingfisher World Icon Solar Lights.  The first of their kind, the solar lights are exclusive to Kingfisher and feature classic British landmark designs.  Judging by how well they were received, they will soon be appearing on many a shelf up and down the country.

Customers that visited during the Open Event were the first to  view the brand new Kingfisher Direct Shipment Showroom, with over 100 items available to purchase on direct container.  There will be a new direct container catalogue available from Kingfisher in January 2015.

A family business trading for over 40 years, we pride ourselves on our open culture and traditional values.  It is this ethos that sets us apart from other large companies, and unusually, we welcome the chance to give something back to our loyal customers.  As a thank you for visiting the show room, each customer was treated to a VIP tour, complete with refreshments, and taxi, train, hotel and even some flight costs were covered by the Kingfisher family.

Each visitor had the opportunity to take advantage of over 26 ‘show only’ one-off special offers.  In addition to these fantastic savings, all orders placed in the showroom were subject to an extra 10% discount, including the already discounted pre-season spectacular and seasonal pre-buys.

One customer, Ian Sellens of Montecarvo, received a discount totalling £10,000, which meant he was able to make a generous contribution to a charity very close to his heart.

The Kingfisher sales team always enjoys the Open Event, as it gives us the opportunity to entertain clients in a relaxed atmosphere.  Area Sales Manager Shaun Davy had particular reason to be happy, since he took over £300,000 in orders and won the Top Sales Person award.  Furthermore, one of Shaun’s customers, Lake & Rushworth Ltd, a wholesaler based in Nottingham, won the Prize Draw and was given 50% off the value of their next order!

Kingfisher Sales Director, Sergio Tartaglia, says

“The event has been a tremendous success.  We trialled this during the Spring Fair week in February this year, which was very successful, but this event was even bigger.  It was better than we anticipated, taking over a MILLION pounds in orders.  We now plan to run more of these throughout the year in the near future, starting with the Spring Fair week in February 2015.”
